Welcome to St Ambrose and St Leonard’s Bristol.
We are a friendly Anglican church based in the heart of East Bristol, just off St George’s Park, BS5. We welcome visitors from all backgrounds to come and enjoy our services every Sunday and Wednesday mornings.
St Ambrose is filled with light and space despite its rather austere Edwardian brick facade. Such was its size it was nicknamed the ‘Cathedral of East Bristol’. For many it is still an undiscovered treasure, having overlooked the park for over 100 years.
Communion services are at 9.30am every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month, when we meet at 11am. These are services with traditional words and hymns that usually last just over an hour. Coffee and biscuits are served afterwards.
Families and young children are really welcome and we regularly run a ‘messy church’ service especially for children.
A Wednesday communion service takes place at 10am, followed by coffee at the Beehive centre, just opposite.
Every first Sunday the St Ambrose choir sings a special choral service at 11am.
